Critics call Duriell “The most immersive open world fantasy RPG the world has ever seen. Players feel like they are actually in the game.” Little did fifteen-year-old Jamie know how literal that statement is.
In the middle of attacking a difficult boss, Jamie gets sucked into the game. It’s not long before he learns there’s no way back home and that the only people around him are NPCs. He spends his days completing quests, hoping one will lead him back to reality. But the days go on and he wonders if he will ever see his family and best friend again.
Then he meets another player, Alleria Silvermoon. She got sucked into the game months ago and has been stuck there ever since. Together, they embark on the journey back to Earth. But is there a way out of this fantasy world or are they doomed to live there forever?

I was skeptical about buying the ebook but it actually turned out to be a fun and entertaining read. It wasn't as deep and hardcore as any of the other LitRPG novels I've read so far but it was still entertaining. I do plan on getting the 2nd book when it comes out.Product details

World of Duriell Book 1 Pardem eBook Dee J Stone Reviews
Our young hero into RPG. This book is crafted well. It allowed the character to be sorrowful and home sick without being a whiner. That is a writing skill that earns my respect.
If you are a kid this book is for you,but for anyone else it's boring slow and to juvenile ..
Are you tired of LitRPG books where the main character is not just overpowered, but gets everything he wants (and more!) just handed to him by the author? Then give this book a try!
Based on its title, I had doubts about it, but I love books about video games, so I checked it out. The game (a single player video game, not a MMO) was perfectly believable. The quests sounded like something straight out of a real game! Including the amusing little references that gamemakers sometimes put into quest titles.
Other reviewers wrote that they thought this was a book meant only for kids, but I'm an adult reader, and I enjoyed it. The main character is a teenager, but that does not mean that the book is meant only for teenage readers.
I'm looking forward to picking up the second one when it comes out.
I tried, I really tried, but I had to stop reading. I admire authors quite a bit, I know I wouldn't be able to write a story let alone try to sell it to anyone else. That being said, this book needs a lot of work. the writing is, for lack of a better word, abrupt, in its descriptions, storyline, and everything else. There is no real explanation for what is going on (I only made it through the first third of the book before I had to drop it) and no foreshadowing of future events or hints of why what is happening is happening.
There are some transitions that left me scratching my head as I tried to understand what caused the transitions, and I don't understand why the character is so much weaker than he thought he would be in the game vs out of the game.
The storyline is very similar to quite a few of the 3 1/2-4 star LitRPG books that are available in the KU program so no real hook to draw me into wanting to read more to understand what is going on.
Author Dee J. Stone is the pseudonym for two sisters who have written almost 30 books on , including a teen superhero series and several long romance series. The author’s first foray into LitRPG is less than spectacular and honestly feels like an attempt at cashing in on a new trendy genre.
While the story is set in a game world, there is no character progression according to the game rules. There is exactly one instance of the character leveling up but it’s so weird to read that he’s suddenly level 12 when no level was given before and no description of XP is ever given for completing quests. Also leveling up doesn’t seem to have any impact on the character’s power. The extent of game mechanics being shown are the character’s inventory, quest dialogue, and a few game notifications.
For the first 30% of the novel, the NPCs in the game worlds are absolutely boring and flat. They’re not A.I. with personality or the ability to deviate from their scripted dialogue. The only way the player can interact with the NPCS is by reading his own scripted dialogue options. So the main character basically talks to himself the first ⅓ of the book.
Then the NPCs suddenly become self-aware and the dialogue improves about a 30% into the story without any explanation why.
The main character doesn’t even run into the other player trapped in the world until 40% into the story. At which point it turns into a teen romance novel, which is the type of story the authors normally write.
Which brings me to the worst part of the story. The game world. It’s just boring.
Idiot MC doesn't realize he is in the game. There are many things in this book that will stand out and unfortunately most are bad
Only mentions leveling once. No character sheet. Though I'm looking forward to purchasing the second book of this series.
